BYND, The Shorts, and The Data.

Bullish

BYND, a stock you may or may not be familiar with. Whether you are or arn't familiar with it doesn't really matter because I'm going to tell you about it and show my sources.

Why will this stock squeeze:

Many reasons,

A - 63.6% of the shares are held by institutions and 8.73% held by insiders, this equals 72.33% together (according to yahoo finance as of 5/7/2022), the amount of shares being shorted is 34.05% of shares outstanding (according to yahoo finance as of 4/14/2022), however, this data is very out of date. I personally think the amount of shares being shorted has gone up by a lot, I couldn't predict how much, but I'm confident its gone up.

a - How do I figure its shares shorted has gone up? well... the shares available to short has decreased significantly according to Fintel and Iborrowdesk. There should be anywhere from 0 - 3,000 shares floating around ready to be shorted, a huge difference if you look back on the charts sometimes having around 350,000 - 500,000 shares available to short.

aa - So what can we make of this, more shares are being shorted than are actively floating around, and if a major catalyst comes out as true, the short squeeze is almost certain.

B - The fee to borrow this stock to short has been creeping up again. It is currently sitting around
18 - 20% another sign of brokers getting a little scared that their shares won't get returned to them.

C - As mentioned in (aa) you now know there is a catalyst, but what is it? It is the potential of BYND selling burgers to McDonalds. I know, I know, they said the issue was "misconstrued" however I believe the insiders and other investors on the inside of the equation still want to acquire more BYND. Than the Fast Company released there statements saying they would be working together causing the stock to skyrocket. To fix this McDonalds said the issue was "misconstrued" causing the stock to go back down. If all of this is true than I have come to the conclusion that McDonalds would be looking to buy more BYND stock right after some bad earnings, which almost always happens to BYND. If McDonalds takes a large stake in BYND causing the price to go up even 5 - 10 dollars this could lead to some more people investing off of the good news/stock going up, triggering some people to pull out of there shorts causing the price to go up more causing a short squeeze.

I know this sounds a lot like a conspiracy theory, and I'm not sure of the time horizon on this, maybe after earnings, maybe a month after earnings. Who knows, there's even the chance the earnings will be looking good because if they are looking good, well, where did they get that money... Most likely McDonalds.

Also, if the catalyst in C doesn't occur, it is likely that any other good news at all will make this thing pop. As we saw when it went up 30% for a couple minutes getting halted along the way before McDonalds said the issue was "misconstrued"

Reasons why would they say it was misconstrued:

- Likely either to acquire more position in BYND

- They wanted to announce it themselves

- They wanted to work out more bugs in the deal before going public with it.

Let me know what you guys think of this by commenting, I thought of this yesterday and maybe I'm crazy, maybe I'm a genius. I'm leaning towards somewhere in the middle (:

Have a great day and remember, be greedy when others are fearful!
