Loss
Hello. I’m F18, and this post is dedicated to my gran, who l lost a little over a month back. She was the first love of my life, the most courageous and beautiful woman I’ve ever known. She got diagnosed with Parkinson’s over 11 years ago (we were later told it was Lewy body dementia and not pure Parkinsonism). I don’t know if this post will help anyone, but if you’re a caregiver/family member of someone with it, I know it sucks seeing your loved one go through it, and it’s worse cause there isn’t any cure yet. The only advice I have is to cherish whatever time you have right now. Click photos, have conversations, hug them longer, eat another meal with them, tell them you love them. As unfortunate as it is, it will get worse, even if you think it can’t worsen anymore. The only happy thing about her having Parkinson’s is that we got to see a certain childishness in her, which was humbling to see. All the best to all of you, sending everyone hugs. Take care (stay safe from covid - it rapidly deteriorated my gran’s condition - making her bedridden and on tubes for the last two years). I didn’t mean to make anyone sad, apologies if this was triggering.
