I'll have to painfully agree...I did not expect to find a waifu in a 40k game.

Her scale feels really off to me, compare to when she stand near a grey knight. She is one big lady

She wanted in on that Hector Rex programme

Is the game any good though?

10
Dukenukem117•

Yes but I want to shoot half the player base who complain about a GK game not having OPAF GK cause thats lore-accurate.

But inquisitor waifu is great.

LiquidInferno25•

Agreed.

To answer u/Mingos26 's original question, if you are familiar with XCOM style games and you enjoy those types of games I think you'd like this one. I've put a couple hours in and so far I'm quite impressed.

Dukenukem117•

I'm 40+ hours in. Still impressed. Though I wish it was as moddable as XCOM 2 since there are so many small balance tweaks I want to do.

To be fair, once your knights level up, and when playing decently, you can wade through waves of foes without a scratch.

Still, a single mistake can cost you a knight.

Early game is a bit of a grenade/AOE spam with how the enemies are, but its not as bad as the 'rookie phase' of XCOM where shooting is just awful and all you do is spam guaranteed damage AOE. Melee and shooting are perfectly usable, but not very AP efficient without perks. Its there for clean-up.

Later in the game, you have to be more thoughtful, but you can also chain AP together so insanely efficiently that I've been able to 1-turn a day 270+ mission on ruthless.

I restarted on legendary now that ruthless got a bit easy, and its much harder to just waltz through a level as everything has just enough HP to survive my old strategies. So now I'm relying a lot more on stun builds and executions. There are definitely 'best builds' emerging and DOT builds are pretty worthless. I'm purposefully leaving my knight requisition upgraded to the bare minimum so I can train all knights from scratch as a high level knight with bad pre-selected perks is just gimped for legendary.

I dont have a problem if someone complains about difficulty purely as a point about difficulty or balance. But complaining that the knights are not 'lore friendly' and just ROFLSTOMPing through 500 cultists is just... I don't know why chaos wants to corrupt such a stupid species or why the Imperium wants to save it. If these people want to play dynasty warriors, they should go play dynasty warriors.

!I just one-turned the daemon prince in the craftworld mission. Took my whole squad ganging up on him and I took nasty hits the next turn, but I feel lile it was worth it. The bastard was too dangerous to be left alive.!<

But yeah, linking autos and AP winning actions is the key to victory.

Though, I can understand how it must be frustrating to see a knight getting mowed down by two poxwalkers when they constantly brag about "Laying low a hundred of the beasts by themseves, no sweat".

Then again, if the game was THAT easy, it would lost a lot of what makes it interesting. There's no gratification when you don't even try.

It is if you like this kind of Games.

The gameplay is very good especially if you like xcom style games. Only thing I don’t like about the game tends to be the atmosphere. A lot of the voice acting (especially on the side of the heretics or demons) seems to come straight out of a kids cartoon. To me at least, the game doesn’t feel grimdark at all and I was hoping for some of that.

I haaaaate the cultist voices. Why do most of them sound like they're some Joker impression? Like, the fuq?

6
Bobthecop353•

That’s what I’m saying dude. And that bloodthirsters laugh in the tutorial is equally as cringey

Steel_WithinKrieger for Khorne•

Even his blood for the blood god was weak.

3
Dukenukem117•

I mean, Dawn of War was kinda ham and cheese too.

Steel_WithinKrieger for Khorne•

There's a fine line where that camp becomes cringe though. DoW managed in parts to walk it and these high pitched screechers don't. The grenadier and heavy stubber variants ain't bad though and the rest of the voice lines for knights (especially Scottish chaplain) and chaos are good. It's just that one autogun cultist.

Glitch_112•

Yes, and the devs are fixing problems the community has with the game such as some performance problems and twitch drops will no longer be required. I love it personally.

We are here to kill Chaos... and get stepped on by sassy girl-boss nerd. In that order.

Well being in the Death Guard is these best way for her to touch you. On the operating table that is.

She looks like Florence Pugh to me. Which is a good thing.

3
Dukenukem117•

Quirked up white girl with balls of steel steps on special knights inquisitor style... is she goated with the exterminatus?

3
Steel_WithinKrieger for Khorne•

My only problem is it seems like she's falling. I've killed three of the Reapers now and she's looking.... haggard... Everytime I bag another one I'm hoping I'm not about to lose one of the last Cadian Inquisitors.

2
Dukenukem117•

If you are playing this game properly, every heretic will know a psibolt through the skull, and every commander would know her shoe size from being stepped on for over a year.

epicrussianhack•

I like her, but inquisihoe darkhammer is better.
