Talon 12.10

with the champion durability and damage adjustment update in 12.10, how well do you think talon would perform in general?

also, talon might(?) become stronger in mid lane where there are a lot of ap champs because of the increase in resistances and him having the highest base mr in the game

what do you guys think about the changes? do you think it will impact him for better or for worse?

probably nerf to electrocute/lethality and buff to conq/phase rush/first strike(?)

thing is we will have to wait and see,if he's weak he'll get buffed but i'm afraid he would just go perma bruiser with decent wr and riot may not do anything about it since he won't os as much and people won't complain imo hopefully i'm wrong

This durability update is just adc and apc buff. In the early game enemy mid has 70 more hp at lvl 1. At lvl 2, it will be more difficult to get first blood. And top lane champions can be quite affected.

But in the late game, everyone has extra 300 hp and 20 armor. A tank probably has 3.5 - 4 k hp and 200 armor (The numbers may vary but the main idea is the same.). Armor formula is 100/(100+armor). So he will get 0.333 of the damage. With extra 20 armor (220) he will get 0.312 of the damage. 0.021 less damage. But an adc has avg. 85 armor. It means he will get 0.540 of the damage. With 20 armor (105) it will be 0.487. He will get 0,053 less damage. 150% more effective than the ratio of tanks. The same goes for hp. I didn't calculate armor pen. but you can see that they are more effective at lower numbers. Riot still buffing just adc and apc. And noone notice it. I would rather have everyone in the game do %5-%15 less damage instead of these changes. % changes would be fairer.

Conq bruiser or the standard first strike rune dd will still be the thing

Assassins will still kill people, I don't think people are really thinking with their head screwed on if they think assassinating people will become impossible.

Healing and shielding is going down, sure champ durability is going up, but we already overkill targets by a lot anyway, even without full combo if we're very fed. All that'll happen is there'll end up being more situations where you may actually need to execute a full combo on somebody, or just land more stuff in general to kill. If you're still mega fed and overlevelled you'll still onetap people no problem.

All this being said, pure burst talon will likely get a tiny bit worse while other keystones that provide more dps or chase potential will get better. I expect Goredrinker Talon in spite of the Goredrinker nerfs will probably still be arguably the strongest overall mythic for most situations, and the fact bruisers and tanks will undoubtably be stronger due to the blanket changes kinda says to me that Goredrinker Talon will be strong.

Again though, we'll still be able to oneshot people, just will take slightly more skill than it currently does, which is fine, I'll take that any day over being oneshot by tank combos or every single bruiser or "supports".

With these changes, I think (lane) lethality will be unplayable if you aren't ahead. That being said, this is a pretty significant buff to Conqueror Talon. I think it's reasonable to say that the latter will see far more play than the former come 12.10.

Eclipse will just become a better item choice cause it do max health damage and scales armor pene. Lethality might be out for abit.

Early game probably won't be as bad, as his strongest point in the game. But late game we should definitely worry if you're going assassin and you're not gigafed. I don't like the bruiser playstyle, but if you play for the longrun games you def need it.

I hope they revert the (scaling) arpen that is lethality back to pure arpen.
