DUI - what happens next?
My dumbass kid brother got a DUI a few days ago. He's lucky he didn't get a speeding ticket because he was driving 65 in a 45. What is likely to be the outcome at his legal hearing? The DMV website says you lose your license for 1yr for the first time. Is that for all DUIs or does the judge have the ability to change things based on each case?
I told him to be prepared to lose his license and have his insurance cancelled.
EDIT: Thanks everyone. This post has been really eye-opening. Many people know not to drink and drive but for those who might be considering it, please read some of the posts here. It will end up costing you a lot of money and possibly your job and relationship. It's not worth it. Call an Uber. That $25 ride is far cheaper than $5-10K.
