Enable ESLint auto fix when running next build script?

The next lint command runs as part of next build, but I can't find any way to enable the --fix flag for the linter when running the next build command. Has anyone else run into this?

I do realize we can create an npm script that runs next lint --fix && next build but then we're running the linter twice for each build
