'The Long Dark' will not install

Hiya, I have a problem with one specific game - the long dark. Every other game on Game Pass installs absolutely fine, but whenever I try to install the long dark, it takes about 3 seconds, says it's installed, then says that it's 'offline'. (I'm using PC)

'The Long Dark can’t open because it is offline. The storage device might be missing or disconnected.'

I then can't find it in my library, and the only option is to re-install it, and repeat the whole process. I'm installing onto an external hard drive, but every other game installs just fine (Prey, Tunic, Nuclear Throne, Lake, Outer Wilds, etc.) I'd love to know what's going on here.
