Blooming Black

Poem

A bright free sky,

boundless valleys lit by spring.

The childish taste of a warm reunion,

the stripped illusion of a long screamed rebirth;

a small black stain.

The melancholy reflowering of the celebration,

pitifully observed from the pedestal of disillusion.

The glittering fireworks of a lost naiveness,

unattainable memories of those who are now forced to wither;

a wide black stain.

The overpowering accelerating wheels,

the now frustrating quiet of the night wind.

The hushed up words and the actions never freed,

the distant feeling of misunderstanding,

the weight of another unforgiving slip;

black.

every last line of the 3 stanzas has really strong impact in the way it progresses the narrative. There’s some strong imagery created here with the black stain, talking about the valleys and the quiet night. Almost left with a cliffhanger when the poem ends with “black.” Made me really stop for a moment and absorb the entire narrative. Enjoyed reading this ✨

i love the progression and consumption this poem displays. it's a twisted form of growth. "the childlike taste of warm reunion" is only a vail in front of a war likely not needing of blood.
