only boys are curious and ask questions š

Who's going to tell him that "a dime a dozen" means really common and easy to find?
So true, but he's coined the new a dime IN a dozen.
Changes everything.
Came here to say this.
Changes literally everything.
Change is everything. As in, if you have a pocketful of change you can buy a hundred womenās opinions on everything because CURIOSITY IS NOT LIMITED BY GENDER
Smart interesting women are truly the hay in a haystack. Such a shame.
What the hell does this idiot even think āa dime in a dozenā means? Oh no, Iām a girl and I asked a question!! š±
Congratulations! You must also be a dime in a dozen haha!
So 10 out of 12? 83.3Ģ %? Not bad numbers, honestly.
r/boneappletea ???
Is there a sub for the spirit of boneappletea, not just mispronounciation? It was my second thought after reading this... (My first thought being, this person obviously doesn't know real live women....)
Here's a sneak peek of r/BoneAppleTea using the top posts of the year!

Exactly what I thought but he even got the saying wrong...š
Women don't have political discussions?? What echo chamber has he been living in for the last two weeks??
An incel one?
Reddit prolly
Like I said...
And assumes every commenter is a man, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
This is so true.
Thatās exactly what I thought. I really think he must only see people argue on reddit and then just assumes theyāre all dudes.
Just like people assuming every post/comment is made by an American
No, the incels are fully aware that many women are in a political uproar right now. They're gloating about it, but they're aware.
But they don't consider that political discussions - the creeps just say "hur hur ur woke!!!"
Seriously, shouting "woke" at everyone just illustrates how little capacity and interest in actual discussions these creeps have. They say "woke" so they can actively avoid any kind of meaningful discussion.
True. Anything on the left side of the political spectrum is either not even considered "proper" political talk, OR things like more women and different sexualities, ethnicities and skin colors represented in video games and TV is "forced politics into my escapism media". It's a strange ass logic they're using.
Politics is the number one topic of conversation among me and my girlfriends and has been for years. Just today I was discussing the upcoming gubernatorial race here in Georgia with my friend who is a poll manager at one of the busiest/largest voting precincts in the state.
I worked for a short time at an election board. All the employees were women.
Fellow Georgian here. Question for you and your friend. Do you every recall seeing candidate yard signs with personal endorsements on them?
I can't recall any political endorsements outside of tv ads and spam emails. The four or more endorsed by Trump candidates felt unprecedented.
You made it past "Women don't make videos"? I mean, if they had qualified it with "like men" it would have been a trivial statement while still being wrong, but they implied that women don't make videos at all. It feels like one of those statements so stupid it can only be answered by a meme.
**stares at OP in Tiktok & Instagram**
Yeah, and if you spend any amount of time in an all girls school (really more of an all AFAB school) you would realize how much political and historical discussion there in fact is. And a good chunk of the population want to pursue careers in the medical field, business, or law.
Can confirm about 50% of my AFAB high school cohort are doctors/lawyers/execs. And that we had extensive and rambling historical and political debates. And scientific discussion. And sometimes it was in French, because pourquoi pas?
Yeah I read in an all girl's school and this is so true ! This guy has never talked to a woman before..
Yeah, that's a dumb take at any time, but most especially right now.
Ah, but see, the moment a women starts to discuss politics, she might turn into a feminist, and instantly stops being a women. That is known.
it's the fictional characters comment that does it for me
been in online fandom spaces for 20 years and this person is just so confidently incorrect
Feel free to xpost on confidently incorrect if you wish.
I've had many discussions with women about their favorite media.
I know the stereotype among ladies is shipping characters, but when asked I'll get their "anime hero beats comic book guy" answers.
And thats not even the hardcore nerds that will break down why universe A actually enhances character Bs power set or "hey check out this mod I made in this game you don't play but you respect my interests enough to care how much work I put into it." Last one is my pre-teen daughter by the way.
Tell me you donāt speak to women without telling me you donāt speak to women.
Woman: Wow, this Roe v.ā
Him: Shut up, stupid bitch!
Woman: leaves
Him: See, women are incapable of discussing politics because theyāre stupid!
What!? Many concubines he has, yes mmhhmm /s
One time I went with my 7 year old cousin to a museum and he was bored out of his mind and he got angry when he couldnāt get the stuff animal at the museum shop
Most kids act out at museums regardless of gender. Edit:spelling
I have been a docent and museum educator at a bunch of different history and natural history museums, and have given tours to up to 180 kids a day. Most kids are actually really well behaved and lovely in museums. They are curious, ask interesting questions, and are used to listening to adults and following their directions.
Their parents and teachers, on the other hand, tend to be fucking nightmares who try to touch everything, interrupt, wander away, get bored and walk off leaving their kids behind, pick fights, break rules, vandalize, and steal. The stealing was the most shocking aspect for me. Anything that wasnāt chained down or behind glass found its way into some adultās purse or pocket.
I stand corrected. You have far more experience than myself.
Exactly
One of the kids I used to watch for a friend would only watch the first 20 min of 5 movies. One day I told him if we started one we were watching it all the way to the end (I'd never seen it through) and he agreed at first, but after the 20min mark you would have thought I was committing a war crime based on his behavior.
Little girls get very excited about new concepts and ask tons of questions, sometimes quite scientifically-minded beyond their years.
Source: work at an aquarium, had a very small girl ask a series of in-depth questions about the meaning of āendangeredā and then āextinctionā and how to counteract it. One of many many examples, but by far my favorite āŗļø
Agreed. I think if the OP has actually talked to a woman, it's unfortunately likely it was someone discouraged from asking questions because girls should be seen and not heard or otherwise made to feel inferior if they do ask a question
When I was a young velociraptor...sorry, human...I almost wanted to live at the natural history museum in Houston, not watch Disney movies.
Once when I was 6, me and my family went to visit a history museum and to this day my father swears that I asked way too many questions that day. About the world wars, about human evolution, about the beginning of the universe and the end of it. I think a lot of kids, regardless of gender, fall into two categories "I'm very curious and tell me everything" or the "I wanna do something else" when they're at a museum.
Tell me youāve never tried taking five year olds to a museum without telling me youāve never taken five year olds to a museum.
Especially a natural history museum. I have never seen a kid not get excited about dinosaurs and fossils.
We live in limestone country; this region used to be a shallow sea. We have fossils everywhere; every time thereās a heavy rain you find crinoids at the side of the road. Thereās a place in our back woods where a couple of big trees went down, yanking up their roots and exposing a fossil clam bed. (Okay, bivalve bed.)
When my niece and nephew would visit as little kids weād go looking for fossils back there. I never noticed that my niece (now 21 and recently nominated for a Fulbright scholarship) was less keen on finding fossils than her brother.
My almost 5 year old daughter is better at spotting fossils than I am! There are several preserves in the area with limestone beds where you can find all kinds of sea life fossils, especially ammonites. She finds at least one every hike, something even my husband (who studied geology) can't do.
So there's a really awesome series of books called "Roadside Geology". There's one for almost every US state (sometimes the smaller states near one another in a similar geological setting will get grouped together). So like, "Roadside Geology of Wyoming" or "Roadside Geology of Utah". They list easily accessible, well exposed localities in the state where one can see different geological formations, fossils, etc. Very cool, not overly jargony (my degrees are in geology and it has enough substance to satisfy me, but it's easily digested by non scientists too), illustrations and access advice. A very cool resource for road trips with the kids!
Since your husband also studied geology, you may know about these books already. If so, apologies for repeating info!
Edit- typo
I fuckin love crinoids!
We live in a 132 year old house; the previous owners lived here for 38 years. The weight on the bottom of the kitchen window blind is a stack of crinoids.
The Houston Museum of Natural Science (Texas, USA for anyone who doesn't know) was my favorite place to go when I was a kid (still would be, if I still lived in Texas). Forget princess movies and whatever else all girls are supposed to do.
Women donāt talk to him and he has no children in his life. Of course, heās decided that women and girls actually are as he imagines them because being a man, he is an authority in all things without even trying. Iād say I wished these guys got out more, but then Iād have to interact with them and Iām not doing that.
All over the US women have been gathering for reproductive justice. Heās missed it because he hasnāt left his room in weeks.
Apparently he wasn't curious enough to ask himself "Do girls have an inner life like me?"
"Do I lack curiosity about women or are my stupid assumptions correct?"
"Should I research this because it would make me look really fucking dumb if I generalised 51% of the population based on my 5 year old niece?"
Obviously he's not as fucking curious as he thought
And he's used the phrase "a dime a dozen" wrong. Lack of self-awareness champion.
Woman: makes a video discussing politics
Males: "Tits or GTFO!!". "You need to smile more in your videos". "Women are too emotional to talk about politics". "You should wear more/less makeup"....
These are clearly the ramblings of it insane individual.
I got expelled from Sunday School for asking "too many questions". Verbatim statement from the nuns.
Broseph there needs to have interactions with real life women, not social media, little kids, and fictional characters.
PS, if anyone is curious, the conversation that was the straw that broke the camel's back:
9 year old Carbonatite: "Is it possible that there are aliens out there? As smart as people?"
Nun: "Yes, but we can't know for sure."
9 year old Carbonatite: "So if they're like people, they're smart enough to believe in God. So they would have souls."
Nun: "I guess."
9 year old Carbonatite: "So then for their souls to be saved, they would need Jesus to come and help them. But it wouldn't make sense to have Jesus come to them as a human, he would have to be one of them, the way God took human form as Jesus for us. So does that mean there would be an alien Jesus?"
I don't remember her reply, but I do remember the disgruntled expression on her face after the term "alien Jesus" was used.
My cats stare at the sky and meow to cat Jesus everyday. I don't find alien Jesus odd at all.
I was also asked to leave Religion class for asking questions; it was something as tame as āif God is Jesusās dad, then who is Godās dad?ā Pointed out that Patrick next to me had just giggly asked about God having sex with Mary and was handed a āboys will be boys.ā If a girl isnāt sharing opinions and asking questions maybe it was disciplined out of her.
I also remember irritating them about the loaves and fishes. I wanted to know if they actually multiplied, resulting in many more loaves and fishes than the initial amount, or if they had the same quantity but one bite of the food was just really filling.
I should mention that today I am a scientist who works some on forensics in environmental disaster areas, lol. Still figuring out the obscure shit.
9 year old you and 9 year old me would totally have been friends!
I asked our pastor to explain how all humans could be descended from Adam and Eve, because that would involve a lot of inbreeding.
To his credit, he told me that some stories in the Bible arenāt meant to be taken literally and to focus on the deeper messages they contain. I grew up to be agnostic, but I think about that conversation a lot when dealing with religious arguments.
When you think about it God must be an alien, and that would make Jesus at least half alien. God created this planet - and the first people on it. God wasn't born on this planet or from any of the people on it - so he has to be alien, which makes his son at least half alien.
I get what you mean by ānot social media,ā but every woman I know is very politically active on social media. Iām sure not all are, but the idea that he sees none at all is ridiculous.
OP only hangs out with men, assumes everyone on the internet is male:
"DAE women anything?"
My guess is that women actively avoid having conversations with him/around him because heās insufferable
Probably accurate.
When youāve never seen a woman OR a museum.
On the plus side, Iām relieved he has also never met a child. Letās keep him far far away from the under-18s.
Shots fired lol
This person has never met an actual girl child. My daughter will talk your ear off about her current obsession, Goldilocks planets. She wants to lead a team to one, and she wants to be an exogeologist. She's 12.
Or any girl for that matter.
Truly someone who has never talked to a woman. Wow.
Facts
There's no winning with these people. You call yourself a feminist and march for women's rights, suddenly you're too loud and people are quoting a bunch of articles they read about how feminists don't shave their armpits.
You don't do this and suddenly you're this.
These people need to take a step off of facebook and venture into the real world.
Facebook seems to be the incubator of all new extremists.
What a dumbass person.
I'm old enough to pre-date Google. As a child I read encyclopedias. For fun. Because of love of knowledge.
There was nothing better in life than proving your friend wrong with an encyclopedia.
I used to sit in study hall and read the World Book for fun.
This is so stupid I canāt even bring myself to get mad anymore š
That's the right attitude. I get hella fed up with all the insane bullshit floating around, but I try really not to get mad.
I fail ALOT, but I try.
This person has not seen women outside of television....
Facts
Iām sorry, I must clarify if you have a penis before you talk about facts. Clearly only men can know what those are. And Iād hate for a woman to try to talk about facts. She might get wrinkles.
/s because the internet is a gross place
Depends where you look. I look at the Internet like I look at a big city. With THAT many people, it's not a place you want to live, only a place you visit for a short time, grab your shit, laugh at the weirdos and then head home
Yup. To me the internet is like a music festival, if you seek out the weirdos you will find all of them, if you seek out the cool people you will find them as well, but you will inevitably run into both no matter who you're looking for.
Thatās a great way to put it!
There's no sunshine where you have your head I
Or 5 year old kids. Sure my niece would want to go back to watching Frozen, BUT MY NEPHEW WOULD WANT TO GO BACK TO WATCHING NINJAGO instead of walking around in a museum.

What the fuck is wrong with you

Or maybe not everybody enjoys dinosaurs?? I knew half of the boys from my kindergarten class were more concerned with soccer than an old skeleton of a prehistoric animal. Also I think you are talking about Aspergerās syndrome. And kids with Aspergerās syndrome are actually more likely to develop weird and obsessive interests that stray from the norm, like trains or dinosaurs.
Did you know that you came the closest to getting the joke?
Williams syndrome is a possibly-related-to-Autism genetic disorder that does a bunch of things to the body and mind. Intellectually, people with Williams syndrome are outgoing. engaging, and show extreme interest in other people, while having mild-to-moderate learning and cognitive delays as children. It's kinda the opposite of mild autism. (The other part that made it a joke? People with Williams also have distinctive faces. A pediatrician shouldn't really have to "test" for Williams as much as "look" for it.)
Now, go! Go get lost down a google rabbit-hole and learn more about your fellow humans!
Stop projecting. The fact that you cannot grasp that people are individuals who have differing interests is an indicator that "something is neurologically abnormal on the scale of not making eye contact" with YOU.
Nope. Plenty of kids aren't interested in dinosaurs. I was pretty terrified of them at that age TBH.
TBH I question whether he's seen women on television either.
I havenāt. what are said women?
Well, according to Congressional Republicans...
He's definitely never been in a comic book store, or a rpg shop... Cause chicks do to argue over which character would win in this fight or that one. The problem is that we have more trust in backing the guys/girls who created said character... I.E. if Stan Lee said Spidey could out due wolverine, we might scratch our heads, but we might trust that old Stan knew Peter Parker powers better then we do... I also used to love politically incorrect with bill mar, and don't give a hoot if I spelled his name wrong. But years of hanging out in legion halls with dad taught me to not debate politics with old men, their views are forever frozen in time and unchanging. However my brother in law, an ex hells angel runner, who has been in n out of prisons longer then I known him, and due to prison had to join the white supremacists... Loves frozen. He watches with his mixed race grandkids, he takes care of now, and would take a bullet for any day. He sings along with Elsa and Anna too... His sister recorded him, pointing out that the grandchild in question was sleeping, but he was still standing there belting out, let it go.
And men neither
yep written by men btw
