A Guide to the Upcoming Prestige System
I have seen a lot of people confused over the changes they are making to the Prestige system, so here I am to explain it to you to the best of my ability.
So, first of all,
Teachables are remaining the same
Ignoring prestiging for the moment, teachable perks are remaining as they are. Levels 30, 35 and 40 will unlock a characters teachables and allow other characters to find them in their bloodwebs, starting at Tier 1.
You do not lose ANYTHING with these changes. Any perks you have on any given character will remain. If you have Prove Thyself Tier 3 on David but do not yet have Dwight at P3, David will not lose access to this perk.
Let's see an example
Say you currently have David at Prestige 3 Level 50 (P3-50) with all perks unlocked and Dwight at P0-50. Once this new change gets implemented, David will not lose access to Dwight's teachable perks, Bond, Prove Thyself and Leader. These perks will remain on David forever. Dwight on the other hand, since you have David at P3, will automatically be able to equip David's teachables, We're Gonna Live Forever, Dead Hard and No Mither, all at Tier 3, even if he didn't have any of them before the change gets implemented and will keep them forever. If you also currently have Meg at P2-50. Meg will also have access to David's teachables at Tier 3, and Dwight will have access to Meg's teachables, Quick & Quiet, Sprint Burst and Adrenaline, all at Tier 2. With the new system, if you want to get Tier 3 Sprint Burst on Dwight, **YOU CAN EITHER** continue levelling up Dwight's bloodweb (or prestige him since perks, items, addons and offerings will no longer be lost) and Tier 3 SB will eventually appear, **OR** you can get Meg to P3 and this will automatically upgrade Meg's teachables on Dwight to Tier 3.
This will happen for any and all survivors, currently available or yet to come out. Once the change gets implemented, if you have all available survivors already at P3, then any new survivor that comes out will already have every single survivors' teachable perks readily available at Tier 3 from the get-go. You can then get this new survivor to P3 to then give everyone else access to Tier 3 of their teachable perks. The only perks you will need to level up the bloodweb for (as you do now) are the generic perks.
TL;DR.
YOU WILL NOT LOSE ANYTHING, ONLY GAIN. Perks you currently have on a character will not go away. Any prestige you have on a character will give all other characters (obviously in the same roll, killer or survivor) the respective tier of their teachables. Any P1 character will give the rest Tier 1, P2 will give Tier 2 and P3 Tier 3.
e.g If you have Dwight's teachables on David at Tier 3 but don't yet have Dwight at P3, David will not lose these perks. Instead Dwight will simply gain access to David's teachables at Tier 3, even if he did not previously have them.
