Tequila Collection in Grocy

Thought I'd share how i'm using Grocy as it might be a bit unique.

Basically, I'm using it to track my tequila collection.. Eventually this will apply to my home bar. And also to my cigar collection (getting some cubans next week. A great use case for the purchase a pack, but use a piece functionality)

I've got some ambitious projects.

  • I've added an empty bottle, full bottle and current bottle weight field and I plan on testing a load sensor with an ESP32 to actually track bottle capacity based on weight. This weigh (get the pun?) i know when to replace bottles that are getting close to empty. If i could figure out how to show a silhouette of the bottle with the liquid represented in the bottle that goes down as its been used, that would be super cool.
    • I know its not tequila, but this is a real problem I have with the dark hendricks gin bottles.
  • If i can ever figure out how to program, what i'd like to do is create a card in home-assistant ... i'm thinking of calling it "vice-card" which actually shows how many cigars, rums, tequilas, etc I have.
  • I also think it would make for a pretty cool way to show inventory if i could display the pictures of the bottles in a web app... simliar to like a digital drink list.
  • I'm thinking about self-aging some of these blancos with some charred wood staves... Grocy barcode will be awesome to print and affix to track this.
  • Finally, I plan (much further down the road) to also incorporate cocktail recipes with the booze collection.

If anyone is a degenerate -- or just simply likes booze -- as much as me, I'd welcome ideas on where to go from here, as well as if anyone wants to dev something, we should chat.
