Lawn care company damaged my well - have no running water

My gf recently hired a small time lawn care company to do her lawn. When they began working, they ran over the well cap and completely destroyed the wiring. As a result we have not had any running water into the house for the last 3 days. The company is giving us the run around and saying they will only be responsible for the damages they caused, although your water well was working just fine before they damaged it. They are claiming we didn’t inform them of the well being there, although it’s pretty visible. My gf is adamant they never asked her if there was a well on the property. They claim they did. What legal recourse do we have and what kind of suit it this?

If this is a home you own, file a claim with your homeowner's insurance. If they believe the lawn care company is liable, they will pursue them in subrogation.
