How do people find Veganism expensive?

Honestly, it boggles my mind. Since becoming vegan, my shopping spend has dropped drastically. The food I get served in restaurants is far cheaper. I don't eat out as much anymore so I save money that way. I don't buy leather belts, wool clothes, thus again saving money. I buy second hand clothes from Vinted, again, money saved.

When it comes to food, I now make my food from scratch. This can be done incredibly quickly. Get some beans, rice, sauce, done. Tofu, sauce, noodles, done. Anything you want. Make a lentil curry, get some naan bread, done.

It's so cheap to be a vegan unless you're buying Beyond Meat every single day. I see this argument so often on Reddit and in person and it boggles my mind. Veganism is cheaper than an omni diet, so where is all this coming from?
