I loved Cold Steel IV but I remember thinking every character didn't HAVE to say something at EVERY one of these points.

This is the thing that I'm hating about CSIV, there is more than 30 characters and everytime they have to speak their piece. God bless the auto fast skip.

I dropped the game at the >!conference scene where like 45 characters showed up on some “remember me? when I did the thing 3-5 games ago?” type shit, while trying to justify why tf that one girl Kaela is in the game at all (and yes, I hate that I was able to recall her name from memory when she doesn’t fucking matter to the story at all)!<

For everyone to say something when they are talking or discussing is ok, it's normal, but to do this at every boss is anoying, at least for me. Maybe that's why I liked CS3 better than the others Cold Steel: few characters.

Agree, theres just so much unnecessary dialog and circle jerk in the game but in the end i still really like the games.

Accurate, and it gets even worse, because during some scenes, especially in CS4, the game blocks you from manually advancing dialog boxes, so If I want to skip the filler and cringe inducing motivational speeches, the only option is to skip the entire scene, with the obvious downside of potentially losing plot relevant information.
