Blank Stare
Vacuous eyes are what I provide
To those who seek to see inside
I fear entangled relations
where balancing words and gestures are indicative of decorum
Why must I venture out into unknown territory?
Tasked with mapping the location and identifying its native species
I rather stay where I feel safe,
The sanctuary that is my mind
Where I control all outcomes
never experiencing deceit or defeat
I Expand my conscious internally
Making sure that no one truly knows
what’s within these fleshy walls and steel beamed bones
each nerve behaving as wrapped wires helping keep my motion evasive
Sometimes I wonder if stretching out a hand would welcome fulfillment
But before I could act my ambition is detained
Placing my words beneath my breath
Becoming incoherent at best
Left to remain behind the doors of introduction
Concluding that my loneliness is ever long
one of my older poems that has had little work done on it in the form of editing. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance for taking the time to read it.
