What’s a normal amount of communication?

I hired a narrator about a month ago with a deadline of the end of June to publish. They uploaded chapter one, we exchanged emails, and everything seemed to be going well. After a month of no updates to the project, I checked in by email just to ask them if everything was going okay and to make sure they didn’t need me for anything. That was two and a half weeks ago, and I haven’t heard back.

Is it normal for a narrator to stop responding in the middle of a project? I’m not sure if I should expect them to just upload at the 11th hour or if I need to move on. Could you give me your perspective?
