Black Screen When Switching to 120hz

My series X keeps giving me a black screen when I do the HDMI override and try to switch to 120hz. I have the Alienware 25 monitor that supports 240hz, but I know it’s HDMI 1.4, so I got an adapter for the DisplayPort and it still is giving me the issue. Any fixes for this or do I have to get a newer monitor?
