Yeah, that’s fair! Thanks for the feedback. I agree, this poem was more one of bitterness, because the narrator didn’t learn anything. The metaphor was that someone does something that helps nobody, just for attention, meanwhile the other does many heroic acts that save lives but nobody notices. It’s a bit of a reflection of society, though this poem’s personal connection to me is that the poem is about me and my “friend”.

Hmm, I felt like the narrator didn't learn anything as a result of the passage of the poem.  Their opinion was formed beforehand and the poem was used to explain a character trait in the narrator.  Also, not sure I can agree that climbing fearlessly into a tree is a weak trait.  However, the flow, subject matter, and tense are consistent.  It's a solid poem and well constructed.  Don't mind my difference of opinion over the content.

i like this poem a lot. i like how it’s kind of a metaphor for when someone does a heroic act simply for fame and praise. i also like how it flows naturally without a rhyme scheme. well done!

This is really enjoyable poem to read, it has a nice flow and the last few lines gave a full sense of completion - thank you for sharing it.

The Difference,

between you and me.

Is that you’d climb a tree, 

and not be afraid of falling.

Everyone would praise you, fearless.

And you would deny it.

So why climb the tree?

I rescue caterpillars, 

from the beady-eyed vultures.

I get weird looks.

I say “be kind”.

Everyone ignores me.

I save lives every day.

No one knows.

What’s special about climbing a tree?

It doesn't show your strength.

The Difference between you and me,

is that you would climb a tree
