The VGEA , Virginia Government Employee Association is seeking input on on the impacts of Gov Youngkin’s recent order basically doing away with Va State employees teleworking .
Please provide your first and last name so that the governor can prioritize furloughs and layoffs.
I don’t even know if I’m joking about that or not.
If the telework change was made in a vacuum that would be one thing, but there are so many questionable changes being made that when they are viewed together it can only be seen as an open attack on Commonwealth employees.
Not just the employees, but the agencies as well. The administration has put out a directive that said any agency seeking to make a purchase in excess of $50k had to get approval at the secretary level, and beyond $100k at the Chief of Staff.
It's micromanaging and inefficient. I know there are some state agencies that are planning to ignore this directive.
I am hearing more and more regarding micromanagement.
I'll keep this vague... One of the better employees at an unpopular agency "closes 25 cases a day". The entire department that "closes cases" has been informed that the new quota for each employee is to close at least 200 cases a day.
Do we really think that the department is under performing to this extent? How is this quota going to impact the quality of work? Is this quota designed to improve state government, is it to drive away state employees, or is the suffering the point?
I have some end of budget year funds I have to reallocate and received that 100k memo today. I'm wondering how it will impact my funding activities.... and am not happy
I think Youngkin may be the type of republican who gets elected to sabotage govt

I can corroborate your claim.
