How long should I wait before digging up my carcasses?

about a month ago, i buried an opossum. when i found it, it was stiff and slightly “crispy”, but still had the fur, and some flesh on it. last week, i also buried a muskrat, which was fresh and full of maggots. both bodies are together in the same hole, each individually wrapped in chicken wire. i live in southern ontario, canada, and the carcasses are buried on my property in the woods. we’ve been getting quite a lot of rain recently, so the ground should be rather moist. how long should i leave them there before i dig them up? would 2-3 months be sufficient?
