Thank you very much for your feedback, aswell as sharing that part of your childhood!

You are essentially right on the money, though it wasn’t specifically one concept. I wrote this while coming out of psychosis and on the day I knew my first girlfriend was about to breakup with me.

Beyond the delusions I believed, I was in a state where I was barely able to write anymore and pretty much couldn’t explain my emotions and what I was going through. And everytime I could, I would essentially be building on top of previous poems, ideas, etc… pretty much in a loop.

My delusions weren’t of the conspiracy sense, they were more so to do with emotions and spirituality / philosophy.

And you’re absolutely right, that is a very beautiful, if not the most beautiful, part of poetry. Once again, thank you very much!

I’ve gotta say, you were dead on the money. I’ve read your comment several times now, and the feeling I got reading it the first time was strange, to say the least. I haven’t shared this poem with anyone before, so I really appreciate your insight surrounding it.

It got me reflecting and I ended up adding an extra three lines, which I figured I’d share. And I absolutely understand what you mean by those experiences still being worth while. Even though it was a very hard time (atleast, the second half of it was), I learnt a lot about myself and learnt many lessons through out it all.

(The extra lines are written from the point of view of the place I was at when I originally wrote it)

Leaving nothing but thick drool

For you to lick through.

A path split in two,

And I picked cruel.

So, hear these words of a sick fool.

I've read through this a few times. I think the meaning can have several stories behind it. The first story that comes to mind is an individual who learned information possibly a religion, a conspiracy, a unique thought, knowledge from a source, a country, etc... and they believed fully in this knowledge and tried to spread it to others. The individual later realizes the knowledge isn't as well curated, reliable, truthful, etc... and so they feel/ or realize they were/are crazed.

This interpretation could be completely wrong but I think that's one of the beauties of poetry. A reader can interpret ones words in multiple ways/connect. I'm reminded of my past childhood where I was really into conspiracy theories. I'd watched a lot that I could find on any conspiracy from the Illuminati to Avril Lavigne being a Reptilian. I'd embraced the theories regarding the end of the world for 2012 along with entertaining the flat earthers views. I even thought about all middle earth theories from s

Hahaha, thank you, but that was just a poor attempt at a joke. You said sorry for the dad joke so I got “offended”.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel bad about your comment or anything like that. But again, thank you for your thoughts

IDK what that means. I hope whatever you got going on gets solved

Yes, and yes.

And no, that behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated. I’ll be establishing contact with this “morning” figure and will be putting steps in place to ensure that a situation like this does not occur again.

Does it get worse when you speak in cursive? Or are the stutters only in writing?

Lol, sorry. Got dad jokes this morning

Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our [feedback guide](https://new.reddit.com/r/ocpoetry/wiki/feedbackcritiques), or look
