My friends husband drives me crazy
I'm a very resilient and patient person. I'm the youngest (23F) of my friend (31F) and her husband (28M). Her husband is not native to our country but I have always been very welcoming to him, making sure to respect both his religion and culture (he's a Muslim and from Saudi Arabia). It was up until maybe 2 months ago I started getting a feeling he might not enjoy my presence too much. It was the weekend after a long ass work week, so me and my friend would have some drinks to just take the edge off. I don't know why, but the guy spiraled and started yelling at us. She took him into their bedroom and was in there for maybe 30 minutes, until she came out and said nothing about it, so I suggested we call it a night. Went to sleep in the guest bedroom and I suppose they forgot to close their door or then the walls are just paper thin, cause I heard him cussing me out and swearing about how annoying I am and how much of a waste of time it is to keep me in their life.
Fast forward a month and a half. I get a visit from a friend, 25M, I've known for the longest time, and we just hangout and chill and what not. He too, is not of this country and belongs to Islam so me and my 31F friend figured we could meet up all 4, maybe it would be nice for the guys to meet and just chat about stuff in their native language and be around someone they relate to.
SO we did. They seemed to have a good time, laughing and talking in their language and stuff, and I felt pretty relieved being able to hangout with my friend while her husband could hang out with someone he can relate to and communicate with in Arabic. But apparently he didn't? As soon as they left, my friend texted me and said her husband accused my friend of only coming to see me to "use me" as that's "so typical for people from that country". I told her, gently, that whatever he and I did or had was strictly just fwb and it's something we BOTH have agreed on, and her husband insisted that I'm "in way over my head, not much to have and also getting myself played". I think it's really unfair to accuse the guy of that, especially after only meeting him once and only talking school and studies, how the hell would he know what his intentions are/were? I've had the conversation about what the future could hold for us, and just have agreed we can be FWB until further notice. Both want to finish school before getting into more serious stuff if that would even be possible.
It drives me up the walls. I don't know why, I just absolutely lose my mind. I can't hang out with my friend without hearing yet another report about my other friend from her husband. It's exhausting and I find it super unfitting to be so judgmental and have so much prejudice. I don't even think I can complain to my 31F friend about her husband cause after all, that's her husband lol. I just need to get this off my chest before I explode
