Wow, she’s so gorgeous.

Definitely don’t have to tell her twice.

Prong collars/e collars / ear biting? 😂...if you want a fearful Mal that wants nothing to do with you all you need to do is use these tactics this is NOT A GERMAN SHEPHERD...and German shepherd training tactics don't work... this dog will do what ever you want it to including savagely ATTACK people ALL FOR A LITTLE PLAY TIME WITH YOU AND A BALL / OR A TREAT AND A KISS...any aggressive training tactics and this dog tune's out turns off and could care less about you or what is expected from him

I use a prong and an ecollar with my Mal, but it isn’t the conventional prong. I tried a conventional prong at first but she was clearly too sensitive so I aborted that collar immediately. I use the HS NeckTech prong now. They market it as less aversive and I agree with them on that front. I also use an e-collar but have never stimmed above a 20 (out of 127) and typically only use vibrate. Prongs and ecollars don’t have to be overly aversive, it’s just another tool to communicate. I’d equate my “corrections” to a tap on the shoulder. Just a gentle reminder that says hey now.. she is a rescue and had zero training prior to adoption. I plan on phasing the prong collar out once we get to that point.

I’m not going to dive back into the ear biting debate lol

Great response..you know I have used the sprenger correction collar for years on my German shepherd's with great results..they respond very well to training with them.and I've had idiots tell me when training in public high distraction places that they would like to put that collar on me and I'm an asshole.. 😂 lol..no kidding..as for ear bitting and alpha training methods I've also had great results...I'm from the school of whatever works...the end result is what matters...I found these MALINIOS to be an entirely different dog than the German shepherd and especially sensitive to absolutely any kind of harsh treatment whatsoever especially the female's...geez are they working with emotions let me tell you... total princess's...I just finished training a female mal that I received as a owner surrender and I made her a monster all with positive reinforcement training she is such a good GAURD this dog I personally kept in the family and gave to my elderly mother as a companion/GAURD dog... geez what a mean bitch she is with strangers and a sweetheart lap dog with my mother an incredible dog for sure..I am not able to download pics/vids I don't know why? anyway here's a link tho and you can see what I'm talking about https://youtu.be/2moS9XhyGM4

Edit... just to be clear positive reinforcement training is rewarding all desired behavior instead of correcting all unwanted behavior...it's the exact opposite of correcting training

Is this the dog you pin down and bite?

1
KevlarConrad•

No he wouldn’t do that to his own dog, just suggest others do it. His dog is perfect.
