tree nut gi reaction?

hi friends! my partner has in the past two weeks twice gotten extremely sick after eating once a large amount of cashews and the other time a large amount of pistachios. she has never had this reaction before but it doesnt seem to be food poisoning or a stomach bug since neither myself or the people around her have gotten sick. she has had to go to the Er and can't keep any liquids down - extreme stomach cramping, vomiting, diarrhea, burping, hiccups.

does this sound like something that could be attributed to the tree nuts?? we know nothing about nut allergies because nobody in our families has them
