Knebworth Openers Pastel Have That Early Oasis Swagger

Article

Had never heard of them until Knebworth and now they're my favorite new band. Excellent tunes, attitude, and this piss take is totally something Oasis would've done back in the day...

The day begins with a clutch of support bands ready to kick off this Hertfordshire rock’n’roll party in style. Cocksure Manchester newbies Pastel, who were hand-picked by Gallagher himself, warm things up nicely with their blend of Verve-esque psych-rock. They aren’t scared to have pop at R Kid, either, as rhythm guitarist James Yates humbly thanks LG for putting his band on the bill before taking a wry dig at his beloved Manchester City. “It’s a shame he’s dirty blue,” he cheekily goads. “Glory, glory Man United!” (NME)

I love them. Heard their single “Isaiah” and got totally hooked

Article is bullshit, Gallagher didn't hand pick them at all. Charlie Lightning did some video and photography work for them (for free, as they're skint) and recommended them to Liam as a support. Basically blagged their way on, bet there are other more established bands out there absolutely spitting lol

Good band though, gonna be big - I've been following them since before Joe joined as guitarist. Bet the geezer that left is feeling sick as a dog now. Worst decision ever.

If anybody wants to see them in a little venue for the last time they are touring in July.

Looks like they're playing King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on 27 July. There was another band that did a show there early in their career...name escapes me at the moment but I think they got pretty big.
