I miss having a pc. Rts games were so much fun.

Sadly, the rise of consoles as compared to PCs is what actually killed the RTS genre years ago. RTS is not popular on consoles.

A lot of people have always played games on PC so I don't think you can just blame consoles.
Other genres became more popular as technology advanced and the attitude of most big developers to only try and develop games that will make massive amounts of money haven't helped either.
Wouldn't say it's a dead genre either, just more niche.

Far fewer than they used to.
PC gaming is a niche market now, and that's unlikely to change.

One, though not the only, reason why other genres became more popular is that they play better on consoles. RTS games are kind of the ultimate example of games that suck on controllers, but a lot of game genres have suffered.
Is it the only reason? Of course not, but it's a major one.

Everything that's PC exclusive is niche now, PC gaming is niche.

Pc gaming is not niche, elden ring on Pc outsold playstation. Steam alone has over 100 million monthly active users. While ps4 sold a little over 100 million. That is why companies like capcom said they are focusing more on Pc.

RTS is a niche genre for sure, but it's far from dead.

I believe it had more to do with the oversaturated market in the genre, and general fatigue it never really recoverd from as a whole. A few individual series did and still do well at least.

The joke is that the summoned weapons from the Chanter invocation are like the Starcraft interceptors, and with multiple beckoners there are a lot (same as the number of interrupters in the gif) of summoned weapons that destroy things very quickly.
I probably could have made that more clear with some better editing, but that's outside of my abilities for now.

It's just a coincidence that regular Chanters get 4 summoned weapons and Beckoners get 8 just like regular/upgraded Carriers, right?
