Angela didn't deserve what Eleven did to her (Stranger Things)
I get it that Angela is a bully and deserved something to happen to her; prank back, a fight maybe? But to be hit in the head with a blunt object was overboard. Mike's reaction was justified and the writers of the show knew this and had her arrested. I only say this because I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when her actions are constantly celebrated on the r/StrangerThings sub and downplaying what she did.

Nah, if you talk shit, eventually you will get hit.
"Talk shit" words
"get hit" violence.
Got it, thanks!
Angela went to violence first and she didn’t stop at just “talk shit”.
Angela tripped El in the quad. The tripping constitutes the legal definition of assault.
Then the other bully smashed her diorama. That’s destruction of private property.
Then they cornered her in the middle of rink and made it so she couldn’t leave. If you keep someone from moving freely and prevent them from leaving, that’s kidnapping.
Then they dumped a milkshake on her all while filming it. Again, that’s something physical that went beyond “mean words”.
It doesn’t excuse El’s attack on Angela. There are better ways to handle it and you could make the argument that her blunt roller skate attack was not a proportional respond. But it’s not a case of “words only” bullying like you make it out to be.
Angela needed to get hit. She was John Hughes Highschool level of cruel. If she didn't get hit in the face, she 100% would have been killed by the antagonist. Now, she is going to have a chance at redemption and offer a helping hand in a moment of need.
Sticks and stone may break my bones, but words will never harm me is the most backwards boomer saying ever
