The stun-locking is getting too annoying

[ DISCUSSION ]

Rob, you really need to tone down on the stun-locking/mute simping, at the very least for RP nights. Mute petting your face or shaking their ass is basically dead air, which you always want/try to avoid. But it's been so bad the past few weeks you've missed like half of Lazzie's arc. Gap died? Inside apartments basically the whole stream. Gap's funeral? Missed half of it by being in apartments. Lazzie getting arrested, breaking from jail, and then the cops shooting a bunch of people? Could've been fun to see but you were being petted by mutes or talking to mutes in the interrogation room. The week before you actually somewhat interacted with people but you complained half the time you didn't have a safe space.

I think it's a little unfair to Lazzie, Aika, Snow, whoever else with all the work they've put into this to not show some of it. The maps been consistently updated with something different every week, even if it's just some texture changes, but we barely see it cuz you have Kyo's ass or Vrey's fingers in your face. I'll admit that part was a bit dramatic, but not completely untrue.

Edit: Well Rob read this on stream, and proceeded to miss the point entirely. He said that "how's he supposed to know that Lazzie broke out of jail and yadda yadda" but SciFri and Crumpet literally told him that Lazzie broke out and that there's a bunch of dinosaur's outside and for Rob to get a gun. What did Rob do? Talk to CGE and Akiwoo in the interrogation room and come outside when everything was over. He also mentioned the basketball court thing being dumb, which I agree, but Lazzie was arrested right in front of him, and he had to be told by multiple people that Lazzie's being arrested cuz he was too busy staring at a mute.

Late edit that probably won't be seen: Missing the point again, the point is not to follow everyone or content 24/7, it's that content is blatantly being missed. Things are happening right in your face or are being told to you, and you say "oh okay" or "just a minute" and then 30min pass by and its over. I'm not saying to follow people relentlessly for a crumb of content, if that's what you get from that you're purposefully misinterpreting what I'm saying (which you (Rob) tend to do for any criticism, but that's besides the point).

Lazzie's God tier Rp is getting overshadowed by ASMR And ass shake Sadge

I feel like the main point of this post was missed by a lot of people.

The goal is not to camp around Lazzie or the people in the storyline, it's just to avoid getting stun locked for 30 mins + in a 2 hour RP lobby by sexy anime girls or be in a room with a couple of people when a whole story is happening everywhere else.

I was so glad to see the apartments removed that one week for this reason, if you go there with a select few people for a long time, of course you are going to miss a ton of action.

The problem is not new, when punishment are given to mutes to entice Rob with succubus avatars for example, you know you are not going to see a lot of RP from Rob's POV.

I watch other people POV but even then, I still want to see Rob's reaction to the story as much as possible.

He can't be everywhere and see everything so the main point is not that he misses things, it's that it's frustrating when it was only to plant the camera on mutes doing sexy things instead.

We have only 2 to 3 hours of RP per week, sexy mutes are around all the times.

In the end this is just feedback not a complaint. If nothing changes I'm still going to enjoy the RP lobbies, just less then I could.

Well Rob read this on stream, and proceeded to miss the point entirely.

Why am I not surprised?

He's been doing this very aggressively recently. Moreso than ususal. Feels like every stream dude is reddit arguing with the oneguy in chat over some dumbass "point" or another.

It's so unfortunate. I watched rob's stream hardcore at the beginning of covid and loss interest when he went this exact route around the time he got covid. Stayed for ~6 more months but he still focused on coomer mutes / one guyed so I gave up. A few weeks ago, this sub and the community was hyping tectone up - I didnt even know who he was - so I started paying more attention to the community again because new members are always content. Sadly I still can't watch rob's stream when he spends half the stream on coomer mutes so I have to watch from other streamer's perspective.

I enjoy some of the others members of the community who also stream to get different perspective

Been saying this for a while, but I appreciate the text threads on this subreddit. You might think it's a waste of time, cuz a lot of the feedback gets ignored or made fun of, but at least you provide us with new content if the fat ogre man ends up reacting and getting stun locked by it. Every minute spent getting stun locked by these threads is one less minute of mute simping! So, keep them up!

i dont mind rob simping over mutes most of the time, but i agree 100% that he should tone it down on RP night. it might sound cringe, but i actually get super invested in the RP storylines of the GG crew. itd be cool if rob was less of a mute simp for that night and participated a little more, but ultimately its up to him to do what he wants on stream. im still entertained regardless.

While I agree the mutes getting in his face doing the hand thing every 5 minute even when theres major RP moment happening literally 2 feet behind him gets kinda annoying

But Rob said it best himself "If you dont like it then watch somebody else in the lobby"

He's gonna do what he wants and if it nets him consistent views then why change formula.

PojoOP:crumpetPeek:•

I think people are taking what I say a bit too seriously, like I'm some fanatic parasocial viewer who thinks Rob owes me something and we have some nonexistent relationship. All I've said is to tone it down for RP night. The problem I have with watching other people is I don't enjoy them as much aa Rob. I like Robs input, the way he moves RP along, his timing on things, his humor, etc. Other people aren't as good with that. I'll still watch him even if he keeps mute simping and getting stun-locked. I'm not making some manifesto that if doesn't change his stream is ruined and I'm ending my Tier 3 and finding someone that deserves my view. He can do whatever, I can admit my opinion might be wrong or at least not the majority, though theres some agree-ers here, and the wheels will keep turning. Some of this isn't directed at your reply specifically, just wanted to say it.

People need to actually pay attention to the viewer numbers.

Want to know why he stopped giving a shit about RP? His view count dropped around 400-500 during that basketball RP clusterfuck. As soon as people start bolting, Rob will pay more attention to mutes. They literally drive his viewers up by the hundreds when he starts simping over them. He admits he makes more off of ad revenue than subs, so his goal is to have as many people watch as possible. Why would he want to continue doing something that plummets his viewership and earning potential? He'd just play League all day if that were the case.

Coomer content draws in way more people than RP content. That's just the truth.

-5
NeekoBestTomato•

OK - lets look at the viewer numbers.

Here's the graph of viewers over time for the RP stream. Notice a few things:

  1. That overall there was not much change during the RP session once it was in full swing. +/- 200 viewers at most. Whereas for example the sharp decline when we go into Jackbox games.

  2. The peaks of the stream came during peak plot and RP. Not during peak coomer bait and mute simping. The two peaks in terms of viewership this stream: a) After Rob left the AssMR stuff to engage with the rest of the lobby. B) After Rob was CCed by mutes and engaged in the lawyer stuff. In this stream, the viewer numbers were lower for mute simping than they were for RP.

  3. The one time Succubus Bearly was on screen for more than a second, generated a higher peak than anything done by a mute the entire stream. Which is just funny.

  4. Historically there is absolutely nothing to suggest that RP tanks viewershup. Actually what tanks viewership are the aimless mute hangout streams. The "lets just chill and explore some worlds with mutes/Kyo" streams are, consistently, the worst for viewership out of all the things rob does in VRchat.

Long story short, your reason here is dumb and wrong. Rob does what he wants to do. This situation comes from Rob not actually wanting to RP, as he himself would just prefer to get CCed by Vrey the entire stream instead. Thats it. No other motivation behind it.

12
BrandonTheBlue•

I usually leave the stream and watch someone else whenever Rob gets CCed by hand ASMR or some random mute that isn't his own. Hand ASMR is probably my least favorite VRC content regardless of whether it's done by a talker or mute. As others have pointed out, it's been really common on Rob's stream since Kyo's schedule change.

TheMadPeterson:roflgatorFat:•

Numbers are delayed and take time to update on Twitch.

Twitchtracker doesn't even have his subs right, let alone his viewer numbers. He was below 4k during the entire basketball shit.

-8
NeekoBestTomato•

Its no different on other tracker sites.

So if viewer count isnt reliable to you, then why ask people to pay attention to viewer count?

6
TheMadPeterson:roflgatorFat:•

You watch in real time and look for trends and large swings in viewership, while knowing that it takes some time for Twitch's numbers to update. Not rocket science.

I feel you expect Rob to be the most well focused streamer ever. Like bruh you watch him enough to know he does not have the attention span for that kind of thing to just watch the RP like it’s a tv show. Dudes gotta be there for hours he’s still gotta try to have fun for himself. And I feel you miss the point that it’s just them having fun and not about you or any of us really cause we’re gonna watch no matter what.

-9
PojoOP:crumpetPeek:•

I'm not expecting that, I don't expect him to 24/7 watch Lazzie, but when something is actively happening in his face, or he's being told something is happening with the clear intention for him to at the very least see it, and he gets distracted, it's a little annoying as a viewer. Sure I can watch other people, but they're not as entertaining when they're more condensed. It's like Cyr, he's great when viewed from Rob or someone else, but I can't watch him on his own from his perspective. Rob can do whatever he wants, but there's definitely been a shift in his attitude and what he pays attention to for...months now.

22
Brandoxz7•

Okay so RP have you ever done it? If not this may be hard to understand. RP is a group improv activity like yes Rob is a main character but to expect everyone of those other people there to come and hang out and spend time to create content as well and then just expect only Rob to be the one experiencing something when it can affect other people in the area it ruins the RP for everyone there. We watch cause that’s his stream we like Rob but I watched the other people who were streaming the other night and I had way more fun watching in RP everyone has to have entertainment or else they leave cause it’s no fun if Rob is just the main character who gets all the spotlight and nothing happens for everyone else to shine.

And bro the dude just learned he’s gonna die potentially soon cause of his heart rate. And you expect so much from him a man who does nothing. You expect him to be the most energetic streamer ready to pop off on everything, he’s also said he’s been depressed the past few months and having sleep issues like it’s a lot to deal with especially when trying to stream it’s a lot. And then imagine all people expecting him to be better and do better when it’s just people who seem to just want to hate and not fully understand the situation and look into he’s not the only option to watch. He pays attention to his friends and people who lower his heart rate such as mutes the dudes obviously bored from what he said on stream just now so he’s gotta try to have fun somehow and chill out.

PojoOP:crumpetPeek:•

I've done very little RPing, but I know it's a group thing. Rob does often call himself a camera man though (though maybe he only says that for date nights). Maybe I'll give other people another shot as well.

I don't expect him to be energetic ready to pop off, I don't know why people think that. All I've said is he's getting too stunlocked by mutes and avoiding content. He doesn't need to run around, focusing on like Lazzie. I also didn't take his health issues into consideration.

11
Brandoxz7•

The issue is with RP the content is his group that he’s in there’s a story that everyone’s involved. Like should every single person in the stream all be in one room so they know what happens and so they can be there and the jail can be filled with everyone and it gets crowded?

I’d definitely suggest giving other people a shot literally it’s hard to watch Sora at times but he goes to other rooms and so does everyone else they’re all technically camera men showing their content. Another thing is most RP streamers will tell you they love doing RP off stream when Nopixel popped off at the start so many played off stream and said they liked it a lot more not streaming cause it was more fun for them. So RP nights is more for them to have fun and they have fun doing something else then they do it cause otherwise it’s 4 hours of just boring shit. Whenever I think of this stuff for RP I always think of the Simpsons episode with steamed hams it’s an episode about every other character and that’s what streamed RP there’s no main character it’s just everyone else living their life going on a crazy adventure and sometimes some people have more crazier adventures than others.

Definitely check out other people I’d say Zzyzx is definitely the funniest person to watch during RP nights when he streams them. Lazzie has been streaming more so maybe he’ll stream RP night sometime.

that was long I know I couldn’t think of the right words to where it didn’t become so long
