So I could sit and wonder, why couldn't it be me

I know I'm a hopeless romantic

With emotions borderline frantic.

I know I gave you my heart

Only to watch you take it apart.

Look at the way it broke for you,

Look at the way it bleeds for you.

I knew you were out searching for dancers;

to spend the night with,

to fall in love with.

I didn't want someone else to be my stand in

I wanted to believe dreams could be real

I wanted to believe we were the real deal.

I wanted to believe in you.
