Why the MK4 doesn’t have an integrated battery?
I really don’t get it.

Increased costs, increase failure rate, decrease security by having the ability to open the device, baaaaaad idea all around. Stoked it doesn't have a battery.
I'm glad it doesn't! just another thing to fail...
Replacing a battery is very, very simple and cheap
Connecting it to power is also very, very simple and cheap.
C‘mon! Let’s try using it on the go and tell me if it’s more convenient with a cable, an adapter and a 9v battery hanging outside or…with an integrated battery inside!

So use something else for OTG
… batteries can leak when they age, and destroy the PCB and components. I think the idea is to avoid the chance of this.
I think the cold card will last you far longer without a battery. I’m talking years and years of use
Wow didn't know it didn't have a battery!
Just a guess, but maybe because batteries are more likely to erode and could damage internal components?
