Lore material

Hello, I'm fairly new to 40k and recently gotten into the books properly. I've poked my way to the Salamanders and I have the Tome of Fire books, but, given 40k lore being the demonic snake ball clusterfuck that it is, I was wondering if you fine, pitch black, green clad gentlemen could point me to the bits of lore hidden away in other books, stories, blogposts and what else have you.

Thanks a bunch!

P.S. Night Lords stink, Marines Malevolent are junk rats

So salamander books are not as great as some other 40K books unfortunately. I honestly recommend going to the adeptus ridiculous podcast and listen to the salamander episode.

Oh sadly I've noticed, especially coming off of the stellar Night Lords trilogy.

And I do listen to Adeptus Ridiculous when commuting, just haven't gotten around to the Salamanders episode yet.

I wish I could’ve helped more but yea just listen to the 2 salamanders episodes when you get the chance!

Horus Heresy Book 26, Vulkan Lives is a pretty good one. Lots of post-dropsite stuff with Salamanders, Iron Hands, and Raven Guard, with a secondary plot between Vulkan and Curze. Plus it has possibly Vulkan’s most badass moment.

!its also a hammer!<

I recommend “Old Earth” and “Vulkan Lives” for lore specifically related to Vulkan, as for regular Salamanders I suggest “Deathfire” or just buy the salamanders omnibus on Black Library if you want to get all of it. Old Earth is a favourite of mine, though I will admit it is not the greatest, but it is the first Black Library book that introduced me to the Salamanders.
