Is it just me - or has Verizon's service area gotten significantly worse in the last few months?
About 4 years ago I switched from T-Mobile to Verizon because their network was better in rural areas of WNC. For the past few months, I've noticed Verizon's service radically degrade. Doesn't matter if I'm in West Asheville right off Haywood, or on I-26 - it's just bad.
Anyone else notice this?

I assume it's tied to the rollout of 5G and the required modifications they're doing to towers.
It's been dogshit though, yeah.
I'm so ready already for the next G. Just wake me up when 5g ends. I mean cmon! We're only on number five!?

5G is absolutely a standard that is "regulated" (has defined specifications) by the 3GPP
AT&T's 5G Evolution, however, is their own design, and is more or less just overclocked 4G LTE that they called 5G E for marketing purposes. They can get close, but they can't call it 5G until it meets the specifications above.
Also probably one of the reasons Verizon is offering free 5G phones (like iPhone 13) with a trade in (also because they need resources to make more phones).
