Nothingness
Oh how sweet the sound of nothing,
Darkness descends on the horizon like it does for this fateful ritual,
This time the blackness stays forever,
Nothingness,
So peaceful yet so controversial,
legions of men succumb to it everyday,
yet its such a mortal sin to want passage to this stage of eternal peace,
Circumstances, fatal flaws, the understanding,
Broken since the moment I took my first breathe,
Doomed to a life of mediocrity and unfulfilled potential,
Lack of self awareness, and short sightedness have led to a life squandered,
opportunities lost, bridges burned,
the woman of my dreams, pushed to the edge of her willingness to look past this monster,
the undefeated face of time laughs at the wasted days, hours, minutes,
the ugly hand dealt by life, firms its grasp on not only I, but my loved ones as well,
sickness, disease, whether mental or physical, seem to lurk ever present,
their threats felt by mine and close to mine,
im tired,
the will is fading....fast.
I asked for guidance and i saw the repeating cycle,
heartbreak, disappointment, unfinished journeys,
the same factor in this equation..the constant......is me.
What do you do when you you have an issue in your formula?
You remove it.
I add little to this world, past the façade ive been able to build around me.
Only one person on this earth truly knows me..
and Ive gone and pushed her away with my state of mind..my miswiring..my misfires..my short circuits..
my brokenness
Inevitable, the broken must fade into nothingness... that way they dont have to deal with the notion that there is no being fixed.
There is no being stitched back together, there is no rewiring, theres just one thing... Theres just reality.
The futile endeavor of searching for happiness when your broken..so when you find it, you break that too.
Left with Nothingness.
Please worry not, these are only words, not reflective of actions or intent.
No real structure or rhyme, just a conglomeration of thoughts.

Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).
If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.
If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.
