Isekai Campaign Session 2
I began the session with a retcon. I didn't think the moment when our beastmaster bonded with her electric rabbit was cool enough, so I redescribed the scene and added a glowing magic circle.
We got some really good roleplaying going. I described the stars coming out and two moons in the sky emphasizing that they were in another world. One of my players described her character going off to cry, and another character went to comfort her.
One player found goblin tracks while gathering firewood, which encouraged them to keep a watch. Unfortunately, the one who was on watch didn't hear anything when the goblins came, and they woke up with their packs ransacked and their food gone.
They tracked the goblins down and we had our first combat! It was awkward at first because I had to look up everything at first, but we got into the rhythm of it by the end. They forgave my awkwardness and are looking forward to next week.
I was worried that I didn't have enough material prepared, but one tracking and one combat covered a good two hours.
So the moral is, start that campaign you don't have completely planned out yet. Find some forgiving friends and learn it as you go. You'll have fun.
