Something to keep in mind as these fires keep raging.
About two weeks ago I was hiking up near Hiezer trail in Hurricane Vally ( It was one of those very cold foggy mornings, but heated up in the afternoon) well, about 4 switchbacks in a pair of guys come stomping down the trail. No "Hello" no sort of acknoweldgement, I was a bit miffed and figured maybe they're from out of town as everyone around here is chatty and welcoming.
Well an hour or so later I get to the top of Cascade Mountain, at one of the point of intrests. I park my butt on a boulder and enjoy the view with lunch but it's freaking WINDY at this point so I pack up and start headed back down. That is, before I noticed a fire pit with a fire still freaking burning!
It was obvious the made some sort of half assed attempt to "put it out"...by laying a dry log across the pit?...that was smoldering. The part of the log that wasn't in the fire was next to a tree. I ended up pouring about two liters of water on it and trying to burry it, waited about an hour after it stopped smoking to make sure.
Though I guess my point is, if I could freaking find these two guys I'd throw them off a bridge. So keep your eyes out everyone -_- people obviously don't mind their actions.
