Mars 3 Assistance
Sorry for the random request here. I have a Mars 3, its been great. A few months ago when the last firmware update happened I updated my firmware (or so i thought - the instructions aren't really clear). Once i did that I started getting this odd issue.
I would print something, success or fail is irrelevant here. The first print would finish - the head goes in the vat cures a layer pulls up all as expected.... and print done. Cool.
The second print - the head goes about halfway down the z axis and stops. the machine thinks the head is in the vat and starts curing. the head never moves from this point on - never moving up or down - and the UV is curing layer after layer in the vat with no plate.
I contacted support and they sent me a new file to flash (one of the firmware files - the gcode.txt one specifically). I flashed it, didn't do anything as i still had the issue, then removed the txt extension (using the gcode - this is part of my confusion in the firmware process here) and it seemed to work. I got a few months out of the printer in which i didn't need to reset the 0 after every damn print..... but its back now. I updated the firmware last night again to verify but its still happening.
Anyone have this issue? Anyone know how to resolve it? Anyone know the actual files that should be on the thumbdrive to update firmware (gcode.txt or gcode for the last file?). Please advise.

Oof. I wonder if there's a way to flash back to your previous firmware. I'm kind of a Luddite, but this is why I'm terrified to update both the printer and slicer.
Only if they have an archive of old firmware you can download and flash back on.
