The Konami code in DBD- What exactly do you need?

Question

I have read so many different posts from both the DBD forums and steam discussions about if you need the Silent Hill chapter or if you only need PH on the Home Screen to do it. Can someone tell me what is actually needed to preform the Konami code so I don't spend more money on a charm than is needed.

You have to own the chapter AND one of the characters have to be on the screen (PH being the killer or Cheryl being on the log with the other survivors). However, idk if this is still obtainable or not

I did it with PH on the home screen but not sure if he was needed. I will say that the timing was very tight on inputs, took a couple tries and had to do it as fast as possible.

you dont need the chapter. just do it with pyramid head if you have him. it still works i helped my brother get it a week ago
