Small plastic and metal component found in a box of office supply type stuff....

I work at a company that manufactures outdoor products (grills, fire pits, etc.) and found this thing in a box of random stuff one day. I wouldn't say it's actually FROM a product that we manufacture or is necessarily related to the industry in any way. Everyone here is stumped.

What IS this thing?

I don't know how much this will help, and hopefully it doesn't detract from anyone's search for truth here... The company this came from primarily built custom outdoor kitchens . Since OUR company is now doing this, I've been a part of the process and there's nothing fancy involved other than regular power tools and raw materials (steel, a roll-former machine, cement board, stucco) . As far as I know , they didnt have any promotional videos or anything like that (not that it rules out this being a camera mount, but as far as I know, they weren't big into media production or anything like that) .
