A supervolcano explodes and covers the entire planet in ashclouds. What will still function?

Most likely hypothetical, but I am curious. If the entire planet is covered in ashclouds, would our technology still be able to communicate with satellites in orbit? If not, what sort of wireless communications other than CB radio would still function?
