The Blue Pigeon.
There once was a medium sized city on the countryside. The villagers were happy, economy was thriving, education in top form, and few complaints could be made.
One day a pigeon arrived. The next day another. And the next day the pigeon population doubled again. This happened until the village was swarmed with pigeons, everywhere. Pigeons would shit on everything so badly that shops could not leave goods outdoor because the pigeons was shit on them. Schools were shut down because pigeons would be out starving and dying in masses, spreading diseases amongst the students. The village almost was always under the shadow of the pigeons at all hours of the day.
The mayor had tried every exterminator, hunter, or animal expert and nothing could stop the pigeon population from expanding. Then one day, a lone traveler strolled into town and went right into town hall.
"Excuse me mayor," the traveler announced. "I can solve your pigeon problem by sundown tonight, but only under two conditions."
The mayor had never met the traveler, but thought, what do I have to lose. "And what might those conditions be?"
The traveler explained, "First, you will pay me 5,000 gold coins, upfront, left in my carriage for when I leave town. Second, you cannot ask how I have rid you of your pigeon,.. issues."
The mayor thought, I could give him 5,000 gold coins easily enough, and if he does not take care of the pigeons, he can easily have one of his men nab the coins back before he could escape with them. Or possibly the traveler had a companion, he did not know, so he would keep a close eye on the coins.
"You have a deal," the mayor announced.
The traveler then briefly departed, only to return an hour later. The traveler went to the top of the city clock tower, and as the sun set, the traveler opened his coat and released one beautiful blue pigeon. The blue pigeon flew right across the sunset, then off onto the horizon. Suddenly, every pigeon from the town took flight with the blue pigeon. The town folk all cheered in an uproar, as they viewed the once menacing pigeons fly off into the sunset behind one beautiful shining blue pigeon. The view was simply breathtaking.
As the traveler came down from the clock tower to board his carriage with his coins the mayor ran to him and shouted, "wait!"
The traveler turned, "I told you mayor! You cannot ask of my methods, or my blue pigeon."
The mayor waved the traveler off, "No! I do not need to know of your methods. I just need to ask, do you also have a blue mexican?"
