I'm Trying to Identify a symbol on this ring that was willed to me; Help!

This ring is part of the jewelry that was willed to me after death of a relative. I'm trying to figure out what the symbol means and where can i find out more about it, is it some kind of a clan or a union? and also I'm pretty certain it's made from gold, so if you have any idea how much profit i can make of this.
