ICS on Galaxy S II?

I am a linux system administrator, so I know my way around the shell. But I don't really spend a lot of time messing with my phone. Is there a simple way that I can connect my phone to my linux box and then install the latest version of Android on it? I rooted it a few months ago and ended up losing the Wi-Fi capability. I am too busy with other aspects of my life to spend a lot of time on this, but if someone could point me to some instructions on how to do this from linux and get my wi-fi functionality back, I would be eternally grateful.
