Looking to buy a Beretta pistol.

I have never bought a pistol before but I are extremely familiar with shotguns. I have always wanted a Beretta 9mm and when I went to their website, I realized that I have no idea what I am doing. Could someone please explain the differences between the 92A1, 96A1, and the 92FS? I have shot one before and I really liked it but I am not sure which one it was. Also I would like to hear and pros and cons you guys have to share about Beretta pistols. Thank you.

EDIT: I would actually like to hear what you guys have to say about any and all 9mm pistols. Their advantages and disadvantages. How different manufacturers make their guns better or worse. Go ahead and give me all the input you can think of and upvote for visibility. Remember, I get no karma for a self post.
