A friend on Facebook recently posted that her boyfriend ran over a dog and kept driving away; is there any way I can bring justice to the owners of the dog?
As the title said, I noticed a post where a friend (or rather, acquaintance from my high school days) of mine said that her boyfriend committed a hit-and-run against a dog. Even if it was an accident, he made no effort to contact the owner and at the very least apologize. I know that there is no physical evidence for me to find outside of the post, but I have no reason to suspect she was seeking attention or making up a story that would destroy his reputation. She's distraught about it as any person would be, and so am I. I'm not out to be an Internet vigilante, but is there any way that I can help the owner/s of the dog seek justice? Even if the dog was not killed, I can't imagine the veterinary bills as well as the emotional stress that they must be dealing with. I know that my friend will not report him for this crime. Or is this a lost cause, and one I should try to move past? Would it be unethical of me to do a little sleuthing and ask her where this happened exactly, at least to find a general area?
Thanks Reddit, my conscience won't let me shrug this away.
