Anybody here play Metroid and worried Halo 4 will end up like Other M?

Other M is a recent Metroid game, where Team Ninja took over and essentially ruined the main character, Samus, by trying to put in some of the canon from the non-game Metroid media (mostly comics).

This is nearly analagous to Halo 4. A new developer is taking over the game, and they're going to be presenting the characters in greater detail in the game, which was previously only left to the books. I'm worried Halo 4 will end up "Halo: Other H". Anybody feel similarly?
