First day of the county Amateur. How do I not repeat last years performance?

I shot 76 today. Scorecard if you care: http://imgur.com/hdDBW Last year I shot the exact same thing on the first day and followed it up with an 84. I already know I'm screwed as far as placing because several of the guys who usually shoot 69, well, didn't. So first flight is cut at 73-76 with no shootout number. I guess what I'm asking is how would you guys handle walking onto the course knowing that you could shoot the best round of your life and still get roflstomped. I would personally just like to put together two rounds in the 70's but I tend to get embarrassed over a bad shot, especially playing with a 1.8 handicap who's pissed he's even in 1st flight.
