Shit like this makes me want to quit Reddit.

r/offmychest really is the only place for this rant.

Edit: the comment inspiring this rant is gone, as is its poster. The gist is that a woman fully clothed, happened to be in an awesome picture her husband was posting to a non-sexual subreddit. As evidenced by my partial quote below, one redditor believed that this was reason enough to graphically describe all the disgusting ways in which he felt that this entitled him to violate her. Fun stuff.

Basically, picture of a guy's hops and his wife in r/Homebrewing gets comments about "once I taste that sweet pussy juice and she cums all over my face it's not likely she'll trust in Beard Boy any more."

Coming off the anti-female shitstorm in r/bestof here and internet pastime of "I disagree with a woman, time for sexually inappropriate comments and rape threats!" like this and hatred of gamer girls and the fighting game community clusterfuck and the fact that the replies to the r/GoneWild girls is so creepy and disgusting, one of them decided to make a tumblr to showcase the worst.

It's hard because I joined Reddit and just started being open about my geekiness and writing publicly with my geeky job, and every day there's assholes on here who nearly convince me that I should just shut up and never admit to liking anything.

• Don't post pics - people think I'm fat and ugly.
• Post pics - whore.
• Like games - liar and whore.
• Don't like games - not worth talking to, but what's your bra size?
• Have hobbies - whore.
• Don't have hobbies - clingy worthless and boring.
• Brewer - "Oh, so your boyfriend brewed this beer for you?"
• Costumer - Why aren't your tits out?
• Artist/musician/writer/creator - who cares? tits or gtfo.

I ran a gaming convention (small, but a few hundred attendees), and I had to send out my guy friends to the local comic shop because after an hour of attempting to convince the owner otherwise, he kept ordering me to let him speak to the man in charge. Eventually, we had to deny him the opportunity to vend because he patently refused to speak to me (or call me or email me or even accept the vending form from me).

Just seems like a lot of work to try and be a part of a community that seems not only to be actively interested in driving women away, but also has nothing but contempt for those of us they hurt in the process. And gods forbid you actually speak out against it, you whining piece of shit.

So yeah, as usual, the internet sucks, and everyone would rather be right than decent. What else is new?

tl;dr People are shitty on the internet (to everyone, but this rant is specific to those hating on women). It would make me sad, but I've decided to be awesome instead. If you'll excuse me, I have three beers to keg.
