Please recommend an action packed 'disaster' movie where no goodies get hurt

My son (age 12) has decided that his favourite movies are disaster movies where everything turns out alright and no good people get hurt.

He didn't like 2012 Ice Age, for example, because there was a part where a family where squished by ice, he is a sensitive soul and feels bad about the family. He preferred 'air collision' because there was lots of action but none of the good guys died. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2091229

He's not really into superhero movies, or crime movies, the 'disaster' needs to be epic for it to fit his specific genre.

I like to think I know a lot of movies, but I don't know what else to suggest for him. Can reddit recommend movies like this? Disaster movies where the 'disaster' is averted and the bad guys get their comeuppance?

edit: Here's an example... 'Air Speed': a young Kim Bauer from 24 tries to land a plane when lightening hits the cockpit and the pilot has a heart attack. My son was on tenterhooks, but in the end everyone was fine, even the pilot made it. lol
