My good male friend drunkenly made a pass at me, not exactly sure how to, if at all, tell my boyfriend.

So first off, my boyfriend is 21, and I’m 20, and we’ve been dating for about a year, the majority of which has been long distance. I haven’t seen him since December, he’s in the navy, but we call and email and skype as often as possible. I love him immensely, and we are a very honest and open couple. He knows all my skeletons in the closet on a first name basis. When he left for deployment in December, I moved to my mother’s house to work/go to school/ keep myself busy until he got back. The only problem was, I had no friends in my new town. I didn’t know anyone, and before I got a job I spent the majority of my time alone in my mother’s house. After several months of feeling sorry for myself, I finally started working more and going out more. And that’s how I met my friend, X. Now, it should be told, I’m absolutely terrible at making friends, especially males. I always looks for people I’m attracted to, and have similar interests with. This generally ends badly, because one of us usually develops feelings for the other. But X was different; we had little in common, a love for terrible folk punk music and hating college was all we ever spoke about, not to mention I have no attraction towards him at all. To be honest, X is kind of gross. X knew from our very first conversation that I was in a loving, committed relationship. And I spoke often about my boyfriend, just to reiterate the fact. And all seemed well. X and I hung out a couple days a week, went drinking, out to the movies, concerts, shopping, etc. And I thought we were very platonic about everything. But I guess I was wrong.

About two months ago, X started going to the gym everyday for a couple hours. He’s fairly overweight, and I figured he was just starting to take better care of himself. He started asking me to do more intimate activities with him, like going out to dinner in very ‘date’ ish restaurants, or taking weekend trips out of town. I tried not to think much of it, and politely said along the lines of, ‘yeah maybe’. I know I should say no outright, but I don’t want to hurt his feelings. This all escalated to the other day, X had been drinking and I had to drive him home from the bar. He grabbed me outside of his house and demanded that we needed to talk. He told me everything he has been doing since we met was to impress me, and he was going to the gym so I’d find him attractive, and that he wanted to take care of me and show me the world. I was shocked, but I think I was expecting it sooner or later. I didn’t want to say anything rash, so I just grabbed my things, said I had to leave, and drove home. This was two days ago, I hadn’t spoken to X since then, but he texted me this morning, telling me about some customer at his job, and generally acting like nothing had happened.

But now, I’m at a loss of what to do. I feel like I need to tell my boyfriend. I almost feel like I’ve done something wrong, and I can’t tell if I have or not. I put 110% effort into showing X that we are friends, but I am not interested. I thought I had done a good job, but apparently I’ve been leading him on for months. But I have no idea what my boyfriend will do or say. I mean, what can he do? He’s all the way around the world. And even worse, what do I do with X?

TL;DR Good friend made a drunk pass at me, after months of me trying to be the best platonic friend I can, not sure what to tell my LDR boyfriend
