1995 Lincoln Town Car oil pressure light comes on during braking.

I have a 1995 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series that has around 102,000 on the odometer. Lately when I am forced to do any heavy braking, especially when going downhill, it sets off the Oil Pressure warning light on the dashboard. It only remains on while the car is moving and once the car reaches a complete stop it turns off.

So far I have checked my oil level and it appears normal. Also, I do not hear any unusual noises coming from my engine when the Oil Pressure light comes on.

This used to happen only once in a while, now it happens nearly every day.

Does anyone have any guesses as to what else I should be looking for as a possible symptom or cause? Any theories as to what could cause this to happen? Anyone with a similar issue?
